Reading time!

You’ve brought your first reading books back from school this week and I’m super impressed with how well you’re starting to sound your words and letters out. You’ve even started to pick up on some of the tricky words (the, to, into etc).

You also have a book for us to read to you as well. This week you’ve got a lovely book about a bear and his grandad – I tried to read this to you today but unfortunately it made me so sad I couldn’t finish it! Once I’d composed myself you didn’t want me to finish it, it was very sweet the way you moved the book away and gave me a cuddle – I’m sorry for ruining a book for you!

Banana muffins

It’s been the Easter holidays for the past fortnight (not that it makes much difference to your daily routine under lockdown) and you and Jessica have, on the most part, played really nicely together whilst I’ve been working from the house.

Today over lunchtime you were able to make some banana muffins with a little bit of help from me and some less helpful help from Jessica… As you can see they turned out really well, and tasted as good as they looked!

Official lockdown!

Due to the Coronavirus which has been sweeping the world (the first pandemic the world has experienced for a long long time) we now have to stay in the house as much as possible and school is cancelled.

You’re now spending all week at home with school setting you work to do whilst you’re here. Hopefully it won’t last too long but at the minute we jut don’t know. We’ve been trying to make the best of it by doing lots of different activities like chalking on the drive, playing with bubbles and getting the paddling pool out!

A good afternoon for a dog walk

It’s was a nice (and not wet) for a change afternoon today so we opted to take Jez for a walk. You took the dogs lead as you like to do (!) and I walked with Jessica who was on her scooter so she can keep up.

Christmas 2019

So it’s come around to this time again! You both did pretty well this year from presents from Santa on Christmas morning..

You got some MyLittlePonies for you both to share and then you got lots of things you can make like pixel art and aqua beads (along with a bit more Frozen lego to add to your collection!

You and Jessica also got matching (in style at least) hats from Chris, Karen & Frankie.

Work Christmas Party

We went along to the party hosted by my work again this year, whilst it feels as though this has become and annual tradition I do find myself wondering how long we’ll have left of being able to do it as you invariably grow older… anyway these are things to worry about another day!

As last year, there was a disco with a DJ, plenty of food and the opportunity to go and see Santa to get a present – provided you were able to wake him up!

It’s Panto Time…

…oh no it’s not (etc!) This afternoon we all went to the Panto at the town hall. It maintained its usual high standard with the Dame’s amazing dresses!

This year they did Jack and the Beanstalk with (in your sisters words) a real life giant! Obviously you both also came out with a new plastic light up wand…

Birmingham Lego Discovery & Sealife

We had a slightly earlier start today to make it to Birmingham for 10! We started at the Lego Discovery Centre where you enjoyed making various designs and playing in the soft play (as well as the brilliant 4D cinema).

Then we grabbed some lunch and carried on to the sealife centre where you and Jessica spent ages looking at the penguins!

Friday in Colmenar

Today we had to say goodbye to Spain and to Chris and Karen.

We have had the most fantastic Spanish adventure and Isabelle cried as we left the villa – Mummy asked when she’d like to come back and Isabelle said ‘Next week’! Mummy better get saving hard again!

You said you were upset because you were worried that you might never get to go back – but I think we will – we need to check that out trees are growing after all!

Before we left Chris took us up to a hotel that looked back down on the whole of Malaga. We could see the bull ring, the beach and the new and old parts of Malaga.

We said goodbye to Chris and headed in to Malaga for a bit of shopping before sadly making our way to the airport!
